April has worked with Aboriginal Head Start for 7 years as the Inclusive Education Coordinator and is excited to bring this cultural knowledge to her therapy practice. She is an experienced meditation and mindfulness teacher and a 500-hour yoga teacher who recently completed training in somatic healing modalities.
April is available to support young children and their families as they navigate the challenges faced during early development. She is also able to support those struggling with self-awareness, connection to the true self, and reducing stress by meeting what is in the way with empathy and compassion. Restoration of self-trust becomes a pivotal moment in working with April, and by doing so, one may find a reduction in their suffering.
April's treatment approach is influenced by contemplative practices, including traditional mindfulness, meditation, and movement. April incorporates research-based knowledge to address challenges and gifts associated with ADHD and Autism. She is also passionate about incorporating animals into therapy and nature-based practices. When working with young children and families, a focus on play, along with relationship-based frameworks, is utilized to create and restore harmony, peace, and understanding within the family unit.
